This past Sunday we began to study the book of Philippians in a series of messages I’m calling “Pressing On”. In this message entitled “Gospel Strong”, we explored what it means to find our strength in the Gospel and being content with the Gospel alone. We compared happiness and joy and talked about how happiness is fleeting and mostly based on circumstances. Whereas joy is something that is lasting and based on something much more firm. Being “Gospel Strong” is finding peace and joy even when you have every reason not be at peace and not to be joyful because of life’s circumstances. Yet we experience those things because we trust in our God and we have the church around us that helps us experience God’s love and provision in our lives even when things are difficult.
I hope this message can encourage you to walk in God’s love and to be “Gospel Strong.”
